She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Kuehne and Jennie Kuehne (Thiel); her husband Gerhard J. Kaniess; her brother Alvin; her son Daniel Kaniess; her brother-in-law Wallace Cudnohoski; and her cousin Elisabeth Lange of Halle, Germany..
She is survived by: her son James (Susan); her grandchildren, Anna and Seth of Campbellsport, Wisconsin; her daughter-in-law Sharon Kaniess; her grandchildren, Kai and Kab of St. Paul, Minnesota; and her sisters-in-law, Jeanette Cudnohoski, Irene Thearle (Daniel) and Judy Groeschel (Roger).
