He was predeceased by: his brother Henry Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Doris; his children, Monty Scheel (Renee), Karen Adamski (Duane), Steven Meilahn (Christine) and Sarah Meilahn; his grandchildren, Clint, Chloe, Annie, Derek (Jamie) and Calli; his great grandchildren, Eva, Owen and Anya; and his sisters, Audrey Marquardt and Iris Meyer (Bill).
