He was predeceased by: his wife Lorraine Marie Treu; and his son Doyle (Elva VanVonderen). He is survived by: his children, Garland (Peggy Ramsey), Kurt Nelson (Donna Bindl) and Carrie Nelson Stotler; his siblings, Jack Nelson (Mae) and Betty Andrew (Bob); his grandchildren, Nick Nelson (Jenny), Pam Nelson, Chris Nelson (Heather) and Nikki Steigerwald (Erik); and his great grandchildren, Eli, Gavin Nelson, Stella, Gavin Steigerwald and Bryn Nelson.
