He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Sr. and Emma (Olson); his wife Rosemary Speth; and his son David. He is survived by: his children, Barb DeWitt (Bruce) of Fitchburg and Scott Schlough (Brenda) of Sauk City; his grandchildren, Stephanie Rehr (Dennis), Brian Schlough (Nicole), Jesse Schlough (Chelsi) and Jason Schlough (Jennie); his great grandchildren, Jacob Neumann, Braden Schlough, Marshall Bender and Wyatt Schlough; and his sisters, Betty Linley and Cathy Smith of Baraboo.
