He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Gerretsen; his children, Melinda Unger and Kyle Gerretsen (Jessica); his grandchildren, Violet Unger, Hannah and Leo Gerretsen; his sister-in-law Jean Gerretsen; and his brother Thom Gerretsen.
