He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, Peggy Pfeffer (Keith), Scott Cunningham and Kristen Farquhar (Randy Johnson); his grandchildren, Brandon Ahlswede (Sara), Tyler (Sara), Nicholas Pfeffer, Brett, Madison Farquhar, Melissa and Jeffrey Cunningham; and his great grandchildren, Nadine and Alexander Ahlswede.
