He was predeceased by: his mother Bonnie Maassen (Brune); his grandfathers, Walter Brune (Adena) and Herbert Maassen (Leona); and his nephew Gabriel Sampoang. He is survived by: his father William Maassen (Bonnie); his goddaughter Desseray Sampoang; and his sisters, Kelly Trade (Bill), Kim Wemple, LeeAnne Harding (Rick), Barb Simon, Dawn Johnson (Wade), Teri Whitling (Curtis) and Deon Maassen (Bob). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (490 Bench St, Taylors Falls, MN 55084). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

“I had the opportunity to help care for Troy and through our time together, I got to know him well. He was caring, thoughtful and super funny. I will miss watching Tiktoks with him and going through all the fun times he had saved on his camera roll. I was devastated to hear that his journey ended so abruptly. May he find peace in his life after this one. Sending my thoughts and prayers to the family during such a difficult time. Lysandra”
