He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Flaig and Emma Flaig; his children, Marlene Passineau and Walter Flaig; his son-in-law Jack Reber; and his siblings, Ralph, Raymond, Emma, Helen, Evelyn, Catherine and Christine.
He is survived by: his wife Lillian Nedrest; his children, Carl Flaig (Carol), Neal Flaig and Suzanne Reber; and his children-in-law, Jean Flaig and Ed Passineau. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
