He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Abel and Violet Abel (Muroski); and his sister Sharon Swetz. He is survived by: his wife Christine Abel; his brothers, Timothy Abel and Gary Abel; and his brother-in-law Kenneth Swetz. He is also survived by many extended family and friends.
