It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carl E. Zechel of Rubicon, Wisconsin, who passed away on January 17, 2023, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Carl E. Zechel to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin Zechel and Agnes Zechel; his parents-in-law, Doris and Leonard Zumpano; and his siblings-in-law, Jack, Diane Luiken and Eric Zumpano.
He is survived by: his wife Anne; his stepchildren, Edward Dwyer (Sylvia) and Jessica Witt (Taylor); and his sisters-in-law, Laura Zumpano (Harald Murck), Maria Star-Zumpano, Shih Tzus Delilah, Sophie and Jasmine. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Carl's family or the University of Wisconsin Foundation's RESPOND Fund, which supports families who are unable to afford veterinary care for their beloved pets with severe illnesses or injuries.
