He was predeceased by: his parents, Kurtis Schmitz and Lila Schmitz (Kimball); his wife Darlene Lehmann; his daughters, Yvonne Anderson and Stacy Schmitz; his siblings-in-law, Allen Lehmann and Joyce Lehmann; his sister MaryAnn Biksacky; and his brother-in-law Richard Biksacky.

He is survived by: his daughters, Kris Graun (Dennis) of Wausau, Penny Uekert of Rothschild and Tricia Johnson (David) of Weston; his grandchildren, Matthew Fons (Ashley), Alex Anderson (Hannah), Stefanie Anderson (Kevin Storey), Sam Anderson (Hannah), Bryon Graun (Olivia), Christy Nelson (Brian), Michelle Stuttgen (Keith), Amanda Detert (Eric Newes), Brooke Detert (Josh Sammons), Jared Graun (Alex), Brady Uekert, Sydney Uekert, Shea Johnson and Gus Johnson; his great grandchildren, Samantha Stuttgen, Maria Stuttgen, Ruari Fons, Jada Jacobson, Luke Pergalski, Christopher Stuttgen, Makayla Pergalski, Danielle Stuttgen, Mia Graun, Camron Storey, Kai Graun, Finnick Newes and Margot; his sister-in-law Collette Lehmann of West Bend; and his nephew Michael Biksacky.

“I was Kurt's neighbor. I only knew him for a few short months, however became good friends with him. He was always so kind and never hesitanted to chat whenever I came home from school or work. I am heartbroken by this news and wish the family the best. He was an amazing guy with such a huge heart.”
