He was predeceased by: his parents, Gust Thurs and Gertrude Thurs (Mueller); his siblings-in-law, Harold and Alice Kriewald; his brothers, Wilmar Thurs (Alladine), Norman Thurs and Orville Thurs (Iris); and his sisters-in-law, Shirley Thurs and JoAnne Schubring.
He is survived by: his brother-in-law Gerald Kriewald; his wife Mavis Kriewald; his brother Elgart Thurs; his children, Cheryl Utecht (Ken), Kim Thurs (Jill), Char Marcell (Jeff) and Amy Jaglinski (Pete); his grandchildren, Lucas Utecht, Heather Grusznski, Mike Thurs, Sarah Thurs, Nicole Riemer, Tara Lancelle, Tanner, Bryce, Seth and Kyle Jaglinski; and his great grandchildren, Coen, Anna Utecht, Jude, Adelynn Grusznski, Jacob, Madilyn Thurs, Caleb, Aubrie Riemer, Gavin, Isabelle, Jasper Lancelle and Jackson Jaglinski.
In lieu of flowers the family will donate memorials to Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services, Wausau, WI https://www.aspirus.org and Mt Calvary Lutheran Church, 503 Schmidt Ave, Rothschild, WI.
