He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethbert and Ellen; his son David; his grandson Justin; and his sisters, Jane and Peggy.

He is survived by: his wife Elaine; his daughter Angela Engel (Robert); his grandchildren, Nicole, Ryan, Brayden and Nevaeh Engel; and his siblings, Judy Van Ert (Duane), Scott (Collette) and Larry (Debbie). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
