He was predeceased by: his wife Naomia Harmon (Schaffner); his son Timothy; his stepson-in-law Dale Halterman; his grandson Cody Halterman; his parents, Harry Franklin and Vernice Franklin; and his brother William Franklin Sr..
He is survived by: his sons, Harry, Vernice Franklin (Swaner), Jay (Jackie), Doug (Linda) and Brad (Cindy); his stepdaughters, Marcia Halterman and Suzette Sherburne (Todd); his grandchildren, Connie, Tim, Jason, Dan, Laura, Denise, Amy, Cindy, Chris, Elizabeth, Samantha and Shawn; his brother Harry Franklin Jr. (Gail); and the mother of his children Marianne Franklin. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
