He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Berg and Eleanor Berg; his children, Angela (Debbie), Melissa Schulte (Jason) and Aaron Berg; his grandchildren, Megan Engel (James), Colin Schulte and Ethan Berg; his great grandchild Charles Engel; and his brother Dan Berg (Gayle). He was also cherished by extended family members and close friends.

Due to the covid pandemic, services were unable to be held at that time.

After his passing, Russ's eyes were donated to Lions Gift of Sight to be used for cornea transplants.
