He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Berends and Rachel Berends. He is survived by: his son Tyler Berends; his sisters, Jean Meyer (Steve) and Mary Jo Berends; his niece Katie Cole (Scott); and his nephews, Eric Meyer (Anna) and Scott Meyer (Sarah).
