He is survived by: his wife Beverly Bradford; his children, Sally Shepherd (Steve Delmont) and Simon Shepherd; and his grandchildren, Alexandria Bartlett (Brian Amato), Jackson Bartlett (Jenny), Sidney Pilot and Riley Shepherd.
Memorials can be made to the scholarship fund for physics majors that is being set up at UWRF in John's name.
