He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Schaar and Emma Schaar (Schingledecker); his wife Betty Schaar; his daughter Michelle Schaar; his grandson-in-law Jackson Merrill Sr.; his brother Robert Schaar; and his close friend Judi Sweeney.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Johnson (Amy), Kris Jones (John) and Jason Schaar; his stepchildren, Jon Lemerand (Nancy), David Lemerand, Debbie Chilson (Dean), Cathi Brown (Steve) and Duane Lemerand (Starr); his children, Courtney Snieg (Dave), Austin Delamater (Hannah) and Jeff Sweeney; his grandchildren, Kinsey Johnson, Sammie Johnson, Nicole Merrill, Bryan Bearheart, Jessica Lemerand, Justice Lemerand, Dean Chilson Jr., Dani Chilson (Matt Frey), Tanner Brown, Morgan Heberle, Neamiah Lemerand, Joe Medes, Jordyn Medes and Ruby Snieg; his great grandchildren, Jackson Jr., Jensen, Jase, Kali, Liam, Ella, Nolan and Elle; his great great grandchild Blakelyn; and his sister-in-law Jackie Schaar. He is also survived by many nieces nephews, relatives and friends.
