He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Schommer and Rose Margaret Schommer (Purfeest); his siblings, Rose Hove (Joe), Dorothy Frey (Dick) and Ralph Schommer (Kathryn); and his siblings-in-law, Catherine Schommer and John Mercord.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Ames; his children, Jeff Schommer (Sherry Chandler) of Ellsworth, Sally Ellis (Rick) of River Falls, Bill Schommer (Patti) of Hager City, David Schommer of Prescott, Steve Schommer (Beth) of River Falls and Brad Schommer (Tiffany) of Prescott; his grandchildren, Tracy, Benji (Carrie), Tim (Sarah), Tiffany (John), Ryan, Megan (Tyler), Owen, Bessie, Emily, Mitchell, Paxton, Evelyn, Ella, Claire and Hannah; his great grandchildren, Brett, Chloe, Blake, Olivia and Noah; his stepgrandchildren, Mike, Cory, Tracy, Will and Kate; and his siblings, Leroy Schommer and Carol Mercord of Prescott.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church - BIG River (W10137 570th Ave, Prescott, WI 54021). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 4:15 PM at the 18th St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery - BIG River (W10137 570th Ave, Prescott, WI 54021).
Memorials are preferred and will be directed by the family to support causes that were meaningful to Eugene.
