He was predeceased by: his parents, Dolores Kienholz and Ervin Kienholz. He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his son Greg (Lynn); and his sisters, Sandra Wenzel and Vicki Mortensen (Dan). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Trout Unlimited or Humane Society.
