He was predeceased by: his parents, Marlene Waalkens and Alfred Waalkens; and his brothers, Michael and Patrick. He is survived by: his wife Jonetta; his children, Sara (Jason Skrzeczkoski) and Glen (Billie Jo); and his stepchildren, Christine (Jaime), Liz and Joe (Baylei).
