He was predeceased by: his former wife Sandra Phippen; his parents, Emmett Phippen and Margaret Phippen; and his siblings, Violet Zimmerman, Cora Platt, June Phippen, Harry Phippen, Henry Phippen and Marvin Phippen.

He is survived by: his wife Kay; his daughter Kim Gartner (Steve); his granddaughters, Margaret Gartner and Emma Jensen (Matt); his great grandchild Ella Jensen; his grandson Noah Gartner (Justyce); his daughter Colleen Zimmerman (Todd); his grandchildren, Brandon Zimmerman (Stacy) and Jenny Percy (Mike); his great grandchild Brooks Percy; his daughter Debbie Murphy; his grandson Nathan Murphy (Kristin); his great grandchildren, Rhett and Collette Murphy; his son John Phippen (Stacy); his grandchildren, Kennedy, Zoey and Zander Phippen; his son Anson Staver (Danni); his granddaughters, Alexandra and Samantha Staver; his brother Frank Phippen; and his father-in-law Clarance Taplin. He is also survived by 5 children, 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and many other family and friends, many other relatives and friends.
