He was predeceased by: his wife Ellen. He is survived by: his children, David (Penny) and Reneé (Henry); his grandchildren, Tyler Shumate, Thomas Shumate, Ellen Cameron and Emily Tootoo; and his great grandchild Adam Shumate. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.
