He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Surrem and Clara Surrem (Rognholt); his wife Erma Hipenbecker; his sister Emily; his brother-in-law Gordon Landphier; his nieces, Diane Landphier and Linda Cohen; and his nephew Scott Landphier.
He is survived by: his daughter Paula Menzel (Kyle) of Duluth, MN; his grandchildren, Hailey Kern (Adam) of Grafton, WI, Rachel Biondi (Blake) of South Bend, IN, Megan Menzel of Duluth, MN and Peyton Menzel of Duluth, MN; and his great grandchild Cooper John Kern. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel (120 N Park St, Richland Center, WI 53581). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Five Points Cemetery (25925 Fivepoints Dr, Blue River, WI 53518).
