He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Welte and Mary Welte (Miller); his son-in-law Richard Unbehaun; his siblings, Francis Welte and Iloe Krause; and his siblings-in-law, Anna Verdun (Close), Phyllis Cleary (John), Helen J. Strickland (Charles), John Louis, Ray Hoegger and Harry J. Verdun.
He is survived by: his wife June Welte of Richland Center; his children, Suzanne Sebranek (Calvin) of Richland Center, Charles Welte (Janie) of Washington, Duane Welte (Shirley) of Richland Center, Donna Gethings (Mike) of Sextonville, David Welte (Paula) of Richland Center and Nancy Coffman of Minnesota; his brothers, Robert Welte (Madonna) of Branson, MO, Mark Welte (Barbara) of Richland Center and Stephan Welte (Sandra) of Richland Center; and his siblings-in-law, James Krause of Illinois, Mary Kathryn Louis of Illinois, JoAnn Hoegger of Illinois and Catherine Verdun of Illinois. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren;16 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
While in school Alan was presented an American Legion Medal and the Babe Ruth Foundation Sportsmanship Award.
