Rodger A. Lauer Obituary

Of Richfield Entered Eternal Life on January 23, 2025 at age 81. Loving husband of Donna for 57 years. Cherished father of Kristin Lauer, Carolyn (Chris) Bialozynski, Susanne (Ron) Fenske, and David (Kourtney) Lauer. Proud grandfather of Laura, Mason, Matthew, Zachary, Kathryn, Megan, and Alexis. Further survived by other family and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents LaVern and Florence and his sisters Mary Ann Ries and Shirley Bridges.

Rodger was the co-founder of Metro Portable Toilets and built that company as a pillar of the social community in the Midwest as they served noteworthy events such as Summerfest, EAA Fly-In, and Taste of Chicago. Eventually Metro was sold to Waste Management, where he worked for 25 years before retiring. In his time at the company he made notable contributions, such as leading Waste Management logistics at the 1988 Olympics in Calgary. He also went on to build the largest single-stream recycling facility in the country at the time.

Rodger was a fervent supporter of the Green Bay Packers and attended many games at Lambeau Field. He loved traveling and camping with family and friends. Rodger and Donna packed up their motorhome year after year and explored many of the 50 states with their children. He crossed off a bucket-list item in 2007 when they drove their RV to Alaska for the summer. Over the course of 20-year's time, they made countless memories with new friends during the winters they spent at Happy Trails resort in Surprise, AZ.

Rodger was a force unlike any other. His strength of character and integrity set an example for everyone around him. His enterprising mind was always working on its next project. Ever the gracious host, he was always planning for the next cut of meat he would prepare on his smoker. He was steadfast and patient, and loved to share a good story and laughter with those around him. He left a lasting impression on everyone whose life he touched.

Visitation will be held at St. Gabriel Parish (1200 St. Gabriel Way Hubertus) on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 10am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm. Burial will immediately follow Mass at St. Mary Cemetery in Menomonee Falls.
