Donald R. Krueger Obituary

Of Richfield, a young 66, died in Christ early on December 11, 2023, from a sudden heart attack. He leaves a grieving family and friends that are grateful to have had him in their lives.

Don was born in Milwaukee, attended grade school at St. Paul's Lutheran School and high school at Martin Luther High School and college at Valparaiso University. He was a teacher and began his career at Lutheran High School in Rockford, IL. He soon transitioned into the insurance sector where his teaching skills benefited his many clients and colleagues as he educated them on its complexities. He had a great eye and memory for personal details, growing from his genuine concern for their well-being. He finished his insurance career at Humana in the Medicare area after 19 years with the company. He retired in May 2022.

As much as he loved his work, he also loved his retirement. He and Mary enjoyed many trips within and outside of the US over the years and are grateful that they did not wait until retirement to begin their travels. He also enjoyed many of the sporting events Wisconsin has to offer. Packers, Brewer, Bucks or a Madison or Marquette game, Don was a devoted fan always there to cheer on the team.

Don was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Marion Krueger. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Mary (nee Meyer), sister Diane (Dave) Ross, nephews Tim and Joe Ross, in-laws, and many personal and professional friends.

The visitation for Don will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, from 4:30PM until the time of the memorial service at 6 PM at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls. FR. Tim Bickel will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Allis or to Martin Luther High School in Greendale. Private burial will be held at St. Huberts Cemetery in Richfield.
