He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Fankhauser and Naomi Fankhauser (Sullivan); his stepmother Alice Fankhauser; his brothers, Jim McFetridge and Del; his siblings-in-law, Marlys Fankhauser and Marvin Doering; his stepsisters, June Behnke and Annie Harshman; his nephew Mark; and his niece Marcia McFetridge.

He is survived by: his wife DeEtte Wiesner; his children, Robin Fankhauser (Jeff Kodesh) of Rice Lake, WI, Wendy Swainston (Raine) of Nampa, ID and Cody Fankhauser (Terri Nelson) of Cumberland, WI; his sisters-in-law, Ruth McFetridge and Leone Dimler of Nampa, ID; his stepsister Myrtle Doering of Rice Lake, WI; his niece Tracy Chumbley (Ted) of Bruce, WI; his nephews, Brent Fankhauser of Lake Elmo, MN and David Carpenter (Laurie) of Fremont, NE.; his grandchildren, Branden Fankhauser (Melissa) of Onalaska, WI, Dustin Fankhauser (Serena) of Shell Lake, WI, Kelsey Geppert (Blaine) of Pierre, SD, Chase Swainston (Taylor) of Nampa, ID and Kanin Fankhauser of Cumberland, WI; and his great grandchild Brixtyn Raine Geppert.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Kilcoyne Memorial (637 N Main St, Rice Lake, WI 54868). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Stanfold Lutheran Church (1573 21st Ave, Rice Lake, WI 54868).
