He is survived by: his wife Michele (Mickey); his children, John Bates Jr. and Julie Khosa (Bob); his grandchildren, Johnny Khosa, Monica Khosa, Mareah Khosa, Angelina Khosa and Daniel Bates (Liz); and his great grandchildren, Emma and Charlie Bates (Michele Bates).
