He was predeceased by: his parents, Tony Landretti and Corrine Landretti (Alleva). He is survived by: his wife Mary Sue Beckstrom. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers donations in Virgil's name can be directed to St. Vincent de Paul of Wausau, Aspirus Hospice House, or St. Anne's Church.
