He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Burns and Blanche Burns (Wanke); and his siblings, Sam Burns, Ellen Hintz (Burns) and Ruth Carpenter (Burns).
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Renee Litzer (Keith), Brenda Frome (David), Jerry, Mark, Tom and Tim; his great-nieces, Rachel Landon (Will) and Shannon Klatt (Ben); and his brother-in-law Ronald Heller.
