He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Heckmann and Gladys Heckmann (Richmond); his sister Joanne Fischer (Ronald); and his half-siblings, Howard, Wesley, Lawrence, Herbert (Lillian), Carl (Ann), Harold Prosser and Ethel Mientke (Frank).
He is survived by: his wife Judy Heckmann; his children, David Heckmann and Kathleen David (Tim); his granddaughters, Faith David (Adam Jones) and Miranda David (Donovan McCann); and his siblings-in-law, Ronald Fischer, Dan, Richard, Steve Pregler, Christina Wurtinger (Gordon) and Betty Hitt (Douglas). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, family asks that memorials be given in William's name to Trinity Lutheran church, school, or daycare center, or a charity of your choice.
