He is survived by: his girlfriend Dawn Larson; his children, Sheila Vanney (Kevin Crumley), Angela Adams (Chris), Fran Vanney (Derik Houle) and Rick Vanney (Sam); his siblings, Paula Drivas and Peter Vanney (Amy); his grandson Sean Crumley; and his aunts and uncles, Janet Taleff (David), Darlene Terzinski (Vanney), Roger Larson (Kathy) and Tom Vanney. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
