Daniel John Feck Obituary
Daniel John "DJ" Feck, age 64, of Rhinelander, died on October 3, 2024, at his home. He was born on July 29, 1960, in Illinois, the son of Daniel and Dorothy (Christensen) Feck.
DJ was raised in Illinois until moving to the Rhinelander area with his family in the early 80s. He attended Headwaters for many years and used that to meet new people and develop skills. When he was young, his family chose to keep him home and care for him, which led him to have an incredibly happy life. You could always find him with a smile no matter what.
He loved doing art projects, listening and dancing to music, and watching TV. He was particularly fond of the show "The Partridge Family" and the movie "Grease", as well as any horror movie. DJ was known for his fashionable style including his purple silk shirts, Hawaiian shirts, green corduroy pants, and of course his Mardi Gras beads around his neck. He loved snacks and his favorites were Reece's Peanut Butter Cups, Little Debbies, and Tic Tacs, which his great nieces and nephews always tried to steal.
DJ loved his family, and especially adored his great nieces and nephews. He had a special place in his heart for all children he was around. He was well loved by others, even if they didn't personally know him. The stories of DJ passed on to others were enough to see what a kind and loving soul he was.
He is survived by his sisters Gloria Feck and Janice (George) Farrell, his sister-in-law and ultimate caregiver Mary Feck, his nieces and nephews Brendalee (Karl Krouze) Feck, Bobbilee (Mark) Hauri, Richard Feck, Amanda (Dan) Vogel, Alyssa Farrell, Sean Malone, Ethan Malone, Paula (Fritz) Luz, and Christine (Mike) Piquette-Finch, his great nieces and nephews Carter, Rosalee, Padyn, Leroy, Isaac, Braylee, Charlotte, and Kylo, other loving family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Edward Feck, Leroy Feck and William Feck, his sister-in-law Carol Feck, and his nephews Kyle Malone, Michael Feck, Carl Feck, and Joseph Piquette.
A Celebration of Life for DJ will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Newbold Community Center. There will be a meal and refreshments provided. Graveside services will take place prior at 2:00 pm at the Newbold Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the Oneida County Humane Society in Rhinelander in his memory. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is serving the family.
