She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Smith and Clara Smith (Risley); her husband Verne M. Long Sr. Together; her grandson Bryan Schulte; her sons-in-law, Roger Hasse and Martin Lucht; and her siblings, Betty Erickson, Harold, Bill, Irvin, Kenneth and Jerry Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Sharon Schulte (Rollie) of Hillpoint, Verne Long Jr. (Mary) of Cottage Grove and Cheryle Lucht (Ernie) of Wonewoc; and her sisters, Avis DeMars Roessler, Yvonne Fosdick and Judie Ellett (Richard). She is also survived by six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson.
