He was predeceased by: his brothers, Evan (Carol) and Edward "Eddie" (Carrie); and his parents, Edward and Elzbeth. He is survived by: his wife Donna (Hanusa); his children, Yvonne Bergman (Reedsburg), Virginia Bergman (Reedsburg), Brenda Bergman-Niehaus (Dale) of Phoenix, AZ and Lyle Bergman of Cottage Gove, MN; his siblings, Syvilla "Sue" Smith (Bill) and Robert "Bob" Bergman (Janice); and his granddaughters, Angelica and Victoria Niehaus.
With that foundation, he went on to build homes for his family, multiple spec houses in Reedsburg, a home for his parents, his and Donna's retirement home, and several rental duplexes and apartment buildings.
