He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Carlson and Marilyn Carlson (Oldenburg); and his brother Dennis Carlson. He is survived by: his wife Susan Cerutti; his children, Travis and Tanya; his granddaughter Zoe Gall; and his sisters, Sandy Skinner (Thomas) and Edie Oldenburg.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the ALS Association in Dan's name.
