He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Mathis and Clara Mathis (Cannon); his former wife Mary Morelan; his wife Patricia Louise Hamilton; his daughter Vivian Dyson (Joe); his brother Jim Mathis; and his stepson Greg Isensee.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Hurley (Jim), AJ Laabs (Doug Anderson), Howard Mathis, Kathleen Howell and Billy L. Mathis; his stepson Steve Isensee (Terry); and his siblings, Gladys Bum and Jerry Mathis (Nancy). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren; five step-sisters, and lots of friends.
