He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gaastra and Bernice Gaastra (Heinz); his brother Alan Gaastra; and his brothers-in-law, Warner Page, Eric Hillstrom and Stan Holland.
He is survived by: his wife Gertrude Homan of Randolph; his children, Wayne Gaastra (Dixie) of Cambria, Marla Noordhof (Matt) of Beaver Dam and Lyle Gaastra (Kathy) of Buffalo Grove, IL; his grandchildren, Bill Gaastra (Laura), Andy Gaastra (Jenna), Jessica Krueger (Brad), Amanda Noordhof (Brian), Joanne and Claire Gaastra; his great grandchildren, Colin, Coty, Mason, Faye and Finn; his sisters, June Page of Markesan, Dorothy Holland of Pleasant Prairie and Clarice Hillstrom; and his sister-in-law Frances Gaastra. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
