He was predeceased by: his parents, George and Johnnie B.; his siblings, Robert Simmons, Curtis Selmon, Ruth Simmons, Deborah Cobb, Elizabeth Gregory and Mary V. Weatherspoon; and his great grandchild Michael.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth M. Simmons; his sons, Tilmon "Tim" Williams (Amy), Gary Batts (Shonda) and Kim Simmons (Monika); his grandchildren, Cecily Simmons, Tilmon Williams, Jr. (Raeann), Austin Williams, Kristen McGee (Tai) and Brittney Mosby; his great grandchildren, Amari, Kayden, Landen and Kenzie; and his siblings, John Simmons (Mae), Lorine, Orine Story and Vallie Rogers (Walter "Dusty"). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
