It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Connell Rooney (Racine, Wisconsin), who passed away on March 27, 2024, at the age of 53, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Cornelius, Mabel Rooney, Herman and Frieda Schulz; and his father-in-law John Salmen (Guinness).
He is survived by: his parents, James Rooney and Nancy Rooney (Schulz); his wife Erika; his siblings, Erin Rooney (Danny Phillips), Jim Rooney (Theresa) and John Rooney (Margret); his sister-in-law Ursula Zemola (Eddie); his mother-in-law Anna Salmen; and his nieces and nephews, Jennifer Pfledderer (Kevin), Lisa Zemola, Jonathon Rooney, Ryan Rooney, Sarah Rooney, Andrew Rooney, Matthew Rooney, Katelyn Rooney and Benny.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Austin Bulldog Rescue (http://www.austinbulldogrescue.com) in remembrance of Rich's love for bulldogs.
