James left this world on January 5, 2025 at the age of 79, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his father Albert Wallace Sr.; his brother Albert Wallace Jr.; and his son Walter Lee Cooks. He is survived by: his mother Louise Flanagan; his children, James Lavell Cooks, Jimmy Cooks (Sonya), Rickey Cooks, Jewel Cooks, Calvin Cooks, Elmira Hanford, Betty Platt (Ernest), Velvert Cooks, Ruthie Cooks, Carolyn Cooks and Kim Cooks; his siblings, Ronnie Wallace of Bessemer, Lillian Jones of Bessemer and Amy Jean of Huntsville; his grandchild Montasia Saucier; his girlfriend Frances Isom; his close friend Billy Price; and also Ruthie Mae Cooks. He is also survived by other grandchildren and great grandchildren and their mother.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bruch-Hansen Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
