We bid farewell to Edsal James Mattax (Racine, Wisconsin), born in Wren, Ohio, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 27, 2024 at the age of 93. Edsal James touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Irenios Mattax and Mary Mattax (Swoveland); his wife Marilyn Horner; his sisters, Nancy Barney (Mattax) and Elaine Mattax; and his siblings-in-law, Charles Hasselbring, Richard Horner and Joyce Horner.
He is survived by: his children, Brenda Nelson (Jon), Michelle Czechowicz (Rick) of Racine, Janis Tripp (J. R.) of Bourbonnais, IL and Chip Mattax of Indianapolis, IN. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SE WI Youth for Christ, or to the Community Church of the Nazarene.
