She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Vanderloop and Helen Vanderloop (Adams); her husband Robert Lawniczak; her brothers, David and Gerald Vanderloop; and her brother-in-law Gerald Lawniczak.

She is survived by: her children, Randy Lawniczak (Kimm), Fond, Lac, Terri Thomas (Marty), Dan Lawniczak (Denise) and Beth James (Chris); her grandchildren, Ashley (Andy), Jacki (Jamie), Kyle Lawniczak (Rebecca), Sam (Stacy), Andy Thomas (Alyssa), Jayme Kinnard (Ryan), Tyler, Brandon, Spencer Lawniczak (Kelli), Jared (Kelsey), Janelle Bronkhorst, Carl (Rosemary) and Luke James (Ashley); her great grandchildren, Isabell, Kellan, Hadley, Laney, Briar, Ella, Brooke, Paisley, Jason, Ase and Dahlia; her brothers, Ron Vanderloop (Marie) and Chuck Vanderloop (Patti); her siblings-in-law, Ken Lawniczak and Barb Vanderloop; her brother Mike; and her sister-in-law Donna Bertrand. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

While Joan loved plants and flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be given to Unity Hospice rather than used for flowers and plants.
