He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry R. Searles and Elizabeth Searles (Aitken); his wife Ellen Searles; and his son Phillip Searles. He is survived by: his son William "Ben" Searles (Sarah) of Princeton; his grandchildren, Samantha Searles, Jacob, Joshua and Heather Searles; his great grandchildren, Phillip and Aiden; his daughter-in-law Karen Roth (Dan) of Rockford, IL; and his close friends, Roger and Nancy Craig of Clermont, Iowa.
