He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Johnson and Frae Johnson (Gilles); his wife Delores Peters; his pet Harley; and his brother Randy.

He is survived by: his siblings, Cindy Sabelko (Steve), LuAnn Sabelko (Don) and Cal Johnson (Bonnie) of Menomonie, WI; and his sisters-in-law, Jan Johnson (late Randy) and Marlene Peters. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
