He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Mercord (Cernohous) and Clinton Mercord; his parents-in-law, Margaret and Eugene Schommer; his brothers, Ron Mercord, Bob Mercord and Dick Mercord; and his sister-in-law Muriel Mercord (Dopkins).

He is survived by: his wife Carol Schommer; his son-in-law Derek; his daughter MaryLee Romens (Derek); his granddaughters, Aubrey and Isabel Romens; his siblings, Kay Reinhardt (Doug), Fred Mercord (Sharon) and Joan Baker (Jim); and his sisters-in-law, Alice Mercord (Armbruster) and Bunny Mercord (Winters). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to delay services in order to keep everyone healthy and safe since covid is on the rise.

He was a strong and loving father and his guidance and advice were a strong foundation for her.
