She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Narain Singh and Parkash Kaur Singh; and her spouse Dr. Narendra Lal Dhawan. She is survived by: her children, Sanjeev Dhawan (Barbara) of Ellsworth, Sumant Dhawan of Prescott and Sunita Chettupally (Quincy) of Chicago; her grandchildren, Evangeline Dhawan, Sanjeev Jr. Dhawan, Victoria Dhawan, Tryphena Chettupally, Tabitha Chettupally and Linus Chettupally; and her sister Sunita "Rani" Chhachhi. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“We just heard of Mrs. Harpal's passing. We first met her at Kids Kare Day Care, where our two daughters were enrolled. She was so kind and she volunteered to help my daughters with Spanish. She told us very interesting stories of her travels, her family and husband, whom she was very proud of. Years later we would still see her working at Walmart and she always remembered us. What a great work ethic she had, always helpful and friendly. She was a remarkable person, so sorry for your loss”
