She was predeceased by: her husband Gordon; her siblings, Marlys Fiedler (Leland) and Clair Eaton (Dorothy); her children, Carol Ahlgren-Mueske and Chris Ahlgren; her grandson Nicholas Ahlgren; and her daughter-in-law Roxanne Harer.
She is survived by: her brother Harley Eaton (Charlotte); her children, Susan Ahlgren Van Sant, Richard Ahlgren, Mary Ahlgren Taylor and Jon Ahlgren; her son-in-law Mark Mueske; her grandchildren, Mary, Samantha Van Sant, Michael Ahlgren, Mallory Taylor, Joseph, Jesse and Leah Ahlgren; and her great grandchildren, Gordon Van Sant, Rembrandt Dantuma and Paige Ahlgren.
Dorothy Ahlgren served on the board of the Great River Road Interpretive Center at Freedom Park and gave one of the first donations to kickstart fundraising for the restoration of the native plants on the bluffs at Freedom Park, aided recently by goats to remove hearty invasive plant species.
