He was predeceased by: his wife Carol Kimball; and his son Mark Kimball. He is survived by: his significant other Patricia Hertling of Red Wing, MN; his children, Scott Kimball (Joan) of Cottage Grove, MN, Anita Peterson (Michael) of Hager City, WI and Michael Kimball (Jennifer) of Chanhassen, MN; his grandchildren, Bradly Kimball (Malee), Jessica Kimball (Shaun Kelley), Maxwell Peterson (Samantha Bauer), Logan Peterson, Caleb Kimball and Bennett Kimball; and his great grandchild Charlotte Kimball.
